Pink Tie Ball

PROMISE TO ATTEND KOMEN ORANGE COUNTY AFFILIATE'S 4TH ANNUAL PINK TIE BALL

When: Saturday, May 15, 2010

Where: Atlantic Aviation, John Wayne Airport

California’s only Pink Tie Ball®, held in Orange County, is an elegant, inspirational evening that unites Komen major donors, breast cancer survivors, business and health care leaders and advocates in their common promise to help end breast cancer forever.

This year's event is chaired by Analisa and Dr. Bruce Albert, with supporting co-chairs Marica Pendjer & John Miller and Trish Coury & Mike Gustafson.

The event will be held in a stunning and nontraditional setting -- Atlantic Aviation private hangar at John Wayne Airport -- representing Komen’s worldwide search for the cures for breast cancer.   Guests will be treated to a cocktail reception, live entertainment, extraordinary cuisine, and silent and live auctions.

We envision guests arriving at the beautiful Atlantic Aviation Hangar at John Wayne Airport and beginning the evening in the open air hangar while the sun sets. After the reception, including a silent auction, guests will be directed to a beautifully appointed dining area set up for a five course feast; the Pink Tie Ball will host dancing, entertainment and a variety of fun ways to support the fight against breast cancer in our community.

Mission and Purpose of the Pink Tie Ball

Seventy-five percent of the money Komen raises in Orange County stays in Orange County supporting local programs focused on the breast health needs of medically underserved and ethnic populations. The other twenty-five percent is put into the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Award and Research Grant Program, the nation's largest private funding source for breast cancer research, and one that has contributed significantly to important advances in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.

Goals of the Pink Tie Ball:

  • Raise significant funds for local breast cancer services and research
  • Raise awareness about breast health and breast cancer
  • Celebrate survivors of breast cancer and their families while remembering those who lost their battle with the disease
  • Build and cultivate relationships with corporate partners, individual donors, members of the healthcare community and volunteers

Please join us and other leaders in the community to create Orange County’s most powerful fundraising effort to end breast cancer forever.
