Her Mammogram...Your Mammogram: Get One, Give One!
Sadly, breast cancer is still taking our mothers, daughters, sisters and friends from us. In just one year approximately 1900 women in Orange County will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 200 women will die from the disease. And it is usually women who aren’t getting an annual mammogram that are diagnosed with late stage breast cancer — this MUST stop.
Give her the most wonderful, most useful, and perhaps slightly uncomfortable gift. Give the Gift of a Mammogram…you may save a life.
$125 = The average cost of a mammogram for one woman.
$375 = Mammograms for three generations at high risk…grandmother, mother and daughter.
$1,000 = Sponsor a “mammogram-a-thon” in a low income orange county community.
$5,000 = Dedicated to breast cancer research to help find the cure.
When you give a donation of $125 or more, we will create Promise Lanterns in honor, in memorial, or in celebration of you, or the people you name. On Thursday, January 15, 2009, you and your loved ones are invited to see the illumination of the Promise Lanterns at the Komen Orange County Affiliate’s office — glowing to honor women, men and families who have been affected by breast cancer.
If your donation is received before Thursday, December 18,2008, we will guarantee delivery of a gift acknowledgement card to your loved one or loved one’s family by Wednesday, December 24, 2008.
As the bustle of the holidays begins, please be sure you’ve made time for your own mammogram — or remind the woman in your life that her health is a priority! Then please help make breast health care available to other women in Orange County who simply can’t afford it.
