Grants

Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the nation's largest private provider of funds for breast cancer research and community outreach programs. Through programs like the Komen Race for the Cure® Series and other fundraising and awareness events, Komen Affiliates raise tens of millions of dollars each year to help achieve the organization's promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering peopel, ensuring quality of care for all and energizing science to find the cures. Seventy-five percent of an Affiliate's net income stay in the community.  The remaining 25 percent support the Komen National Award and Research Grant Program.

Since 1991, the Komen Orange County Affiliate has raised more than $16 million to fund local community-based breast health education, breast cancer screening and treatment programs for the medically underserved.

A comprehensive community needs assessment, called the Community Profile, is conducted every two years to ensure that funding is directed to non-duplicative programs that address the specific unmet breast health needs of people living in Orange County.

The Komen Orange County Affiliate supports local nonprofits through the Community Grant ProgramMid-Cycle Grant Program, and Treatment Grant Program.  These grants have a tremendous impact on our community.  Frequently, the Komen Orange County Affiliate is the primary source of local funding for breast health programs.

Applications for the 2008 Community Grant Program are no longer being accepted.  Please check back at a later date for the next grant opportunity.   All requests for science research funding should be directed to the Komen National's Award and Research Grant Program.  More information on research funding is available at www.komen.org/grants.  Inquiries regarding Komen Community Grants should be directed to Sandra Rose at srose@komenoc.org or by calling (714) 957-9157 x 25.
