The Komen Orange County Affiliate offers community grants for innovative projects in the areas of breast health and breast cancer education, outreach, screening, patient navigation and survivorship not otherwise available to medically underserved populations in Orange County.   The Community Profile is used to establish priority areas for grant funding that are consistent with Komen's stated mission and focus resources in the areas where they are most needed. 

Grant applications are now being accepted for Breast Health and/or Breast Cancer Education, Screening, Patient Navigation and/or Survivorship Projects in Orange County.  The 2008 grant cycle will offer funding from January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2008.   Applications will be accepted from U.S. nonprofit (federally tax-exempt) organizations, e.g., educational institutions, government agencies, and Indian tribes are eligible.  U.S. citizenship or residency is not required.  Applications must be submitted in English.  Applicant organizations must be located and/or provide services that benefit people residing in Orange County.  Projects that specifically address the gaps identified Komen 2006 Community Profile will be given priority.

Application deadline is Friday, July 6, 2007, 5:00 PM.  Applications postmarked on or before July 6, 2007 will be accepted. Faxes will NOT be accepted.  Mail or deliver applications to: Susan G. It is strongly recommended that organizations interested in applying for a Komen Community Grant attend the Grants Technical Assistance Workshop on Wednesday, June 6, 2007.  The workshop is from 9 - 12 PM at 3191-A Airport Loop Drive, Costa Mesa, CA 92626.  Please RSVP to Katie Adams at kadams@komenoc.org by Friday, June 1, 2007.
