Susan G. Komen - Orange County is celebrating its 17th anniversary. Every year, we distribute dollars back into Orange County to help people with little or no health insurance to receive breast health and breast cancer education, screening, treatment and treatment support.

The 2008 Pink Tie Ball, on April 5 at Soka University, will be the Komen Orange County Affiliate's second annual gala. The event will bring together the elegance and fundraising of an Orange County gala with the passion of people who want to contribute toward a world without breast cancer.
A beautiful night at the Soka University campus includes a cocktail reception with hors d'oeuvres, a three course dinner, dancing and entertainment, all to support the fight against breast cancer in the community. Seventy-five percent of money raised will support local programs focused on the breast health needs of medically underserved populations and twenty-five percent will fund national breast cancer research.

The Orange County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure presents the 2nd annual Breast Health Symposium, Saturday, March 8, 2008. Many Faces, One Voice will provide comprehensive and innovative breast health education in support of Orange County’s diverse communities, including those affected by cancer and those who provide breast health care. In addition to breakout sessions geared for community members, a continuing education track will be offered for medical professionals. Featured speakers include internationally renowned mammography specialist Professor Laszlo Tabar, M.D. and Dwight Randle, PhD, senior scientific advisor at Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s national headquarters in Dallas. Special thanks to MemorialCare for their support of the Symposium. Walk-In registrations are welcomed
